Bury Rangers Social Media Policy

Bury Rangers Football Club understands that everyone involved in football must recognise that the responsibility to safeguard exists both on and off the field of play. Coaches, club officials, volunteers and others in a position of trust in football need to act responsibly both on and off the field, and this includes the use of electronic communications. Clubs and leagues that set up websites have a responsibility to ensure safeguards are in place. Coaches, managers, club officials and those in a position of responsibility in our club must ensure they communicate responsibly. Bury Rangers Football Club is responsible for ensuring all content hosted on our website, social network areas and any associated message boards or blogs abides by the Rules and Regulations of the Football Association (FA). As a club we welcome interaction with our social media channels; however, any posts, comments and similar content must adhere to the following parameters. This policy must be adhered to at all times. Without agreement to abide by these rules, your son or daughter will not be allowed to register with Bury Rangers Football Club. These rules apply to all coaches, managers, parents, spectators and players of Bury Rangers Football Club, and breaches of the social media policy will be addressed as required by the club disciplinary procedure. Content that must not be posted on social media includes: Results (Under 7s to Under 11s) Following the rules set by the Hertfordshire FA, in accordance with Football Association policy and in agreement with Herts Youth League, Mid Herts League, Hertfordshire Girls Partnership Football League and Royston Crow Youth Football League, no posts on open social media platforms should disclose any scores or results (win, lose or draw) for any of our Under 7s to Under 11s teams. This includes all forms of football: league arranged fixtures, cup competitions, friendlies and festivals or tournaments. Photos of children without parental consent No comment or post may include any image of a child without documented consent from their parents. This includes children from opposing teams. Negative or derogatory comments No post should ever include anything negative or derogatory about any other team, club, referee or member of our own club.
