Safeguarding & Welfare

Our commitment to keeping every player safe

Putting Player Safety First: Safeguarding at Bury Rangers FC At Bury Rangers FC, we believe that football should be about fun, teamwork, and development. But above all else, it must be safe. We take our responsibility to protect our young players incredibly seriously, which is why proactive safeguarding is embedded into everything we do as a club. Parents and guardians need absolute peace of mind when they drop their children off for training or match days. To guarantee a secure and supportive environment, we maintain strict welfare protocols for anyone leading our teams. Comprehensive DBS Checks: Before any coach, manager, or volunteer steps onto the pitch to work with our youth teams, they must pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We have a zero-exceptions policy when it comes to background vetting. Certified Safeguarding Training: Every single one of our coaches is required to complete certified safeguarding training. This ensures our coaching staff are fully equipped to recognize, report, and appropriately manage any welfare concerns. Creating a positive culture takes continuous effort. Our coaches aren't just there to develop football skills; they are trained to look out for the physical and emotional well-being of every player wearing the Bury Rangers badge. If you ever have any questions or concerns regarding player welfare, our dedicated Club Welfare Officer is always on hand and ready to listen. Together, we ensure the beautiful game remains a safe, welcoming space for everyone.
